LC -v- CR (2020) – Defamation

Represented the Defendant in a claim being pursued by a Claimant. The causes of action included Defamation, Misuse of Private Information, Breach of Personal Data and Harassment.

KB v CCWP (2020) – Action Against The Police

Acted for the Claimant in a complex claim against the Police. Our Client sought damages for a number of claims including unlawful arrest, detention, imprisonment, trespass and unlawful search and seizure.

JB -v- DP (2020) – Defamation

Acted for a Client in a Defamation claim against a Councillor. The Defamatory allegations include false allegations of espionage and spying.

PLL -v- BOR (2020) – Defamation

Acted for Dental Surgery who had been subjected to a campaign of online Defamation by the Defendant. The Defendant sought to claim unlawful sums against our Client and published untruthful Defamatory posts online against our Client. Upon our Firm being instructed, we succeeded in stopping the Defendant from committing any further offences or publishing Defamatory posts against our Client.

AI plc -v- FAN (2021) – Claim by Insurance Company for Repair Costs, Breach of Contract

Acted for the Defendant in a claim by a Motor Insurance Organisation for the recovery of repair costs exceeding £28,000. The Claimant sought to recover these sums from our Client on the grounds of an alleged breach of contract. We successfully defended the Claim for the Client, whereby the Claimant did not proceed with the Claim against our Client.

TB -v- BW (2021) – Defamation

Acted for the Defendant in a Defamation action pursued by a Claimant. The Claimant claimed that our Client had made serious defamatory statements against the Claimant which included allegations of controlling behaviour, manipulation, witchcraft and bribery. Our Firm successfully defended our Client against all allegations which resulted in the Claimant not proceeding with the claim.

BHFL -v- AG (2021) – Romford County Court – Guarantor Agreement, Contract Dispute

Acted for the Defendant in a long standing litigation dispute. Prior to instructing our Firm, the Defendant was acting in person and was unable to successful resolve the matter with the Claimant. At Trial date had been set, and our Firm was instructed by the Defendant to resolve the matter. Upon being instructed, our Firm successfully negotiated and persuaded the Claimant to resolve the matter with our Client, without the necessity to proceed to a Trial. This resulted in an outcome which was very positive for our Client, and saved the Client considered expense by avoiding the Trial.

ZA -v- LBR (2021) – The First Tier Tribunal (Property Chamber) - House in Multiple Occupancy (HMO) Appeal

Acted for the Client freehold landowner. The local authority served a declaration upon our Client declaring the Property to be a House in Multiple Occupation pursuant to section 255 of the Housing Act 2004. An Appeal was submitted on behalf of the Client for an order to reverse the Tribunal’s decision and to remove the HMO declaration. We were successful in revoking the HMO decarlation, as it was withdrawn by the local authority after the appeal was filed.

TM -v- BGML (2021) – London Central Employment Tribunal – Harassment, Unfair Dismissal and Race Discrimination

Acted for the Claimant against a global financial / brokerage group. Our client was subjected to unlawful treatment which included harassment and racial discrimination. This culminated in an unfair dismissal. We successfully secured a settlement for the Client for the sum of £14,500.

KS -v- ABM (2021) – Employment – Breach of Contract, Age & Sex Discrimination, Harassment, Unfair Dismissal

Acted for the Claimant in an Employment matter that had multiple causes of action. The Claimant had been unfairly dismissed with no fair process being followed by the Employer. Upon our Firm’s instruction, the Claimant was re-instated back into her Employment.

CCA -v- CPO (2021) – Central London County Court - Harassment

Acted for the Claimant in action where the Claimant was subjected to harassment contrary to sections 1 and 3 of the Protection form Harassment Act 1997. We successfully secured resolution for our Client against harassment by securing undertakings given to the Court.

BHL -v- (1) SJ (2) OO (3) PU (2021) – Clerkenwell & Shoreditch County Court – Fraud & Breach of Contract

We acted for the Defendant in a very complex claim, where our Client claimed it had been the victim of fraud and breach of contract. A historical judgment was registered against our Client’s Property, prior to our Firm being instructed. We successfully managed to resolve the matter and remove the judgment from our Client’s Property.

GC -v- GPS (2021) – Disability Discrimination, Unfair Treatment

Acted for the Claimant in an Employment Dispute regarding breach of contact and Disability Discrimination. The case involved complex matters relating to COVID-19 risk assessment failures, breach of the Employer policies, Disability Discrimination and Unfair Treatment. Successfully managed to secure settlement in favour of our Client for sums in excess of £23,000.

GF -v- AD (2021) – County Court at Plymouth – Landlord & Tenant Possession

Acted for the Defendant Tenant in a claim pursued by the Landlord for possession. The Defendant opposed the possession claim on the grounds of unreasonableness on the part of the Landlord. The Landlord’s claim was struck out by the Court.

GPL -v- RM (2021) – Edmonton County Court – Landlord & Tenant Claim

Acted for the Defendant in claim by the Landlord for rental arrears. Successfully managed to resolve the matter via mediation.

SCL -v- (1) JHQ (2) AR (3) SMC (2021) – County Court Money Claims Centre – Partnership Dispute

Acted for the 3rd Defendant in a complex claim issued by the Claimant against 3 Defendant’s. The case concerned a complex Partnership dispute and the legitimacy of contracts / agreements that the Claimant sought to rely upon. We successfully persuaded the Claimant to discontinue the claim against our Client and also recovered costs for our Client.

AWL -v- (1) AI (2) JI (2021) – Basildon County Court – Claim for recovery of fees

Acted for the Defendant in a long standing and contested claim. The Claimant sought to recover substantial fees and costs from the Defendants, who disputed the same on the grounds that the recovery by the Claimant was unlawful. After highly contested litigation proceedings, the Claimant withdrew the claim.

SS v SA (2021) – Romford County Court – Harassment

Acted for the Claimant who had been subjected to a campaign of harassment by the Defendant. The harassment included threats, insults and behaviour intended to humiliate and intimidate our Client. We succeeded in resolving the matter and seeking protection for our Client by virtue of a Court Undertaking in favour of our Client. We also successfully recovered compensation and costs for our Client in excess of £21,000.

IQC -v- FD (2021) - Landlord & Tenant, Harassment, Breach of Contract

Acted for the claimant Tenant in an action against the Landlord. The case included matters relating to harassment and breach of contract. We succeeded in resolving the matter and recovering costs for the Claimant.

SJ -v- (1) SB & (2) PM (2020) – Central London County Court, Business & Property List - Business Partnership Dispute

Acted for the 2nd Defendant in a long standing and highly complex Partnership Dispute. We acted successfully for our Client on multiple matters during the proceedings. These included complex and difficult applications related to Specific Disclosure, resulting in successful costs being recovered for our Client. Ultimately, we successfully resolved the dispute in favour of our Client.

TC -v- A M (2020) - Consumer Law

Acted for the Claimant in matter against a Car Dealership. Our Client purchased a vehicle which was of an unsatisfactory quality and not fit for purpose. An action was pursued under the Consumer Rights Act and we obtained a successful refund for the Client.

ST v UNIVERSITY (2020) - Breach of Contact & Negligence

Successfully acted for a Student in a claim for breach of contract and negligence against a prestigious University. Our Client succeeded in securing reinstatement into this University. We also successfully recovered compensation and legal costs for our Client.

KM & SM v JL LTD & LF & JW (2020) - Contract Dispute

Acted for the Claimants in a complex Contractual dispute claim, where the Defendant’s had submitted an application for security for costs against the Claimants, to prevent the Claim from proceeding. We successfully defeated the Defendant’s application which was dismissed by the Court and an order for costs was made in favour of the Claimant.

RDAH -v- KL (2019) – Family Court at East London - Child Arrangement & Child Contact

Acted for the Father in a contested Child Arrangement Order matter. Our Client succeeded in obtaining an order for the Children to live with the Father. An Indirect Contact Order and Prohibited Steps Order was made against the Mother.

G LTD v PTF (2019) - Landlord & Tenant

Acted for the Defendant where a possession order had been made against the Defendant, and our Firm submitted an application to set aside the possession order on grounds of non service and that the Defendant had a real prospect of success. We successfully settled the matter with the Claimant, with the possession order being set aside.

IJP v NA (2019) - Child Arrangement & Child Contact

Acted for the Applicant Father in a Child Arrangement Order matter. The mother had made allegations against the father for domestic abuse and a CAFCASS report found against the Father. An application was submitted by the father challenging both the mothers allegations and the CAFCASS report. We were successful in obtaining an order from the Court confirming that the mothers allegations had not been proven and she had protracted the proceedings to cause difficulties to the father. The Court also successfully found against CAFCASS, stating that the CAFCASS report was not consistent with the evidence.

VIGNESWARN & VIGNESWARN v 1ST CREDIT (FINANCE) LIMITED (2019) - Bankruptcy Annulment 

Acted in complex bankruptcy matter concerning an annulment application. We acted for the applicant bankrupt at the trial. The case raised important issues of banking law, particularly in respect of the responsibility for non-payment of direct debits and of contract law, in particular difficult questions of consideration.

ANWM v P UK LTD (2019) - Discrimination

Acted for the Claimant in a claim for breach of mutual trust, confidence and sexual discrimination against former Employer. We successfully settled the claim with the Employer, whereby our Client received compensation.

DS LLP v JG [2018] - Professional Negligence

A claim was issued by a firm of solicitors against our client for unpaid fees. We defended the claim on behalf of our client on the grounds of professional negligence against the solicitors firm. We successfully defended the claim at trial, and were also successful on appeal. We also successfully recovered compensation and costs at the sum of £39,696.57 from the solicitors firm.

DAVIS SOLICITORS L.L.P. v RAJA AND ANOTHER [2015] EWHC 519 (QB) - Professional Negligence

Acted for defendants in a defence for unpaid fees and counterclaim for compensation and costs for professional negligence against a firm of solicitors. Our Client’s were successful and were awarded £21,613 in costs and damages. The matter was reported in the Law Society Gazette as follows:

AC v JK & S [2017] - Companies court - Unfair Prejudice Petition

Successfully acted for the respondent in a complex Unfair Prejudice Petition. The Petitioner agreed to pay the respondent's costs in excess of £60,000.00.

MS v AA [2016] - Guildford County Court - Divorce

Acted for Petitioner husband in a divorce petition, which was contested on the basis that the respondent's wife claimed she did not marry the husband in pakistan, and only married the husband in the UK in an Islamic ceremony. The Petitioner husband succeeded at a preliminary hearing, and it was held that the Islamic Ceremony in Pakistan was valid proof of marriage. The respondent's answer to the petition was struck out and the respondent was ordered to pay the costs of the trial of these issues at the sum of £22,781.60.

JB v DD [2015] - Romford County Court - Misrepresentation

Successful claim by client tenant against landlord for misrepresentation by silence, breach of covenant for quiet enjoyment, and disrepair following the letting of residential property. Compensation and costs were successfully awarded to the client for the sum of £23,339.00.

W.VIGNAKUMAR v CHURCHILL GROUP LTD - UKEAT/0222/12/LA - Unfair Dismissal & Discrimination

Successfully represented a claimant in an unfair dismissal and disability discrimination claim. The claimant was awarded over £45,000 comprising lost earnings, loss of pension, and injury to feelings award of £15,000. Also successfully defended appeals of liability and remedy in the Employment Appeal Tribunal.

FZ v SR: East London Family Court [2016] - Trust of Land

A complex Trusts of Land and Schedule 1 matter involving arguments about foreign property, school fees and proprietary estoppel which had a 7 day hearing.

PA v NO [2017] - Queens Bench Division of the High Court - Fraud & Breach of Duty

Successfully represented the defendant in a case concerning alleged breach of fiduciary duty in the sale of an investment property following a “ catastrophic breakdown in relations between the parties" concerning allegations of fraud. After a 5 day multi-track trial in the Queen’s Bench Division of the High Court, His Honour Judge Dight dismissed the claimant's claim in its entirety and found the claimant "willingly and knowingly entered into the transaction”. The defendant was awarded costs on an indemnity basis.

SW v T [2016] – East London Employment Tribunal - Discrimination, Harassment & Victimisation

Acted for the claimant in a sexual orientation discrimination, harassment and victimisation claim against a multi-national company. 

NA v MA & SB [2013] – Queens Bench Division of the High Court - Defamation

Acted for a professional businessman in an online defamation claim. Our client was successful in the claim and was awarded damages and costs.
